This process involves hard anodising followed by a supplementary finish of Poly Tetra Fluoro Ethylene (PTFE) for enhanced mechanical properties. PTFE provides a low coefficient of friction and chemical inertness allowing the treated parts to be used in a wide range of applications.
Wear – this finish should be applied where maximum wear life and corrosion protection from a lubricant are required.
Excellent Corrosion Resistance – this finish significantly improves the corrosion performance of aluminium.
Lubricity – PTFE is used as a coating/seal to reduce friction between moving parts and increase wear, abrasion resistance and corrosion resistance. PTFE and certain other lubricant coatings may be applied over any anodized, hard coated or base metal surface. They provide lubricity, chemical resistance and overall added protection to the anodic coating.
