We have adapted our plating ranges to meet the various demands of metal finishing requirements. Plating most precious metals, but also base metals such as zinc and nickel, we plate to BS and Military standards and work with only certified suppliers to ensure the highest quality end product.

And for adittional peace of mind we have our very own in house laboratory complete with microscopes, XRF High Sensitivity analyser.

 

How XRF measures coatings

The XRF analyzer can measure coating thickness from 0.00 to approximately 60.00 microns, depending on the material. X-rays are emitted from the analyzer, and they strike the sample, causing it to fluoresce. The analyzer detects the returning X-rays and uses the data to calculate the thickness of the coating or coatings.

According to ASM International’s Surface Engineering for Corrosion and Wear Resistance, various surface engineering techniques that fall within this range are plating (mechanical, electroless, electrolytic), vapor (chemical, physical deposition), and bonding (resin or lacquer).
